A few current and former WWE Superstars have even been married to more than one wrestler.
Many of these “ring marriages” stand the test of time, like Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. The Game and The Billion Dollar Princess tied the knot in 2003 and have been together for 19 years now.
However, not all marriages are built to last, and breakups are bound to happen. While some of these separated superstars later married people who had never worked in the industry, others tied the knot again with fellow wrestlers.
Here are five WWE Superstars who have married several wrestlers.
#5. Former WWE Women’s Champion Sable
Nearly a decade before joining WWE, Sable married Wayne Richardson in 1987. The couple had a daughter, Mariah, before Richardson tragically passed away in an accident in 1991.
A few years after her husband’s death, Sable first met and fell in love with former Intercontinental Champion Marc Mero. In an interview with Slam Wrestling, the former superstar disclosed how the couple’s romance started.
After dating for a few months, Sable and Mero tied the knot in 1994. Nearly two years later, both joined Vince McMahon’s company. The couple worked together in WWE for about three years before leaving in 1999.
While Mero never returned to Vince McMahon’s company, Sable rejoined WWE in 2003. Later that same year, the former Women’s Champion started a romantic relationship with Brock Lesnar.
In an interview with the Stone Cold Podcast in 2019, Mero revealed that he found out about his wife’s romance with Lesnar after listening to her voice messages.
Mero and Sable officially got divorced in 2004. That same year, she and Lesnar left Vince McMahon’s company. The couple then tied the knot in 2006.
The Beast Incarnate and Sable have been married for nearly 16 years now. They have two sons together, Turk and Duke.
#4. WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix
Beth Phoenix kicked off her wrestling career in 2001. That same year, she married independent wrestler Joey Knight.
The Glamazon’s first husband competed in several promotions, including Apocalypse Wrestling Federation, Florida Underground Wrestling, and American Combat Wrestling. He also made a few cameo appearances in WWE between 2005 and 2007.
The couple’s marriage lasted for nearly nine years. However, they split in 2010. About a year later, Phoenix started dating Edge. In his WWE 24 documentary, The Rated R Superstar disclosed the details of their first encounter.
After dating for two years, the two WWE Hall of Famers welcomed their first daughter, Lyric Rose, in December 2013. In May 2016, they had their second daughter, Ruby Ever. Five months later, Edge and Phoenix tied the knot.
The Rated R Superstar and The Glamazon recently teamed up for the first time to defeat The Miz and Maryse at the Royal Rumble premium live event.
#3. WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin
In 1990, Stone Cold Steve Austin married his high school sweetheart Kathryn Burrhus. Their marriage lasted for nearly two years. However, it ended in 1992 after Burrhus found out that her husband was having an affair with his valet, Jeanie Adams (AKA Lady Blossom).
Adams was a wrestling manager. She has appeared in several promotions, including WCW. She’s also competed in a few matches in United States Wrestling Association (USWA) and World Class Wrestling Association (WCWA).
Later in 1992, Austin and Adams tied the knot. The couple had two daughters, Stephanie and Cassidy, before divorcing in 1999. Nearly a year later, The Texas Rattlesnake married another wrestler, Debra.
In his autobiography, “The Stone Cold Truth,” Austin revealed how he and the former Women’s Champion started dating.
The couple remained together for three years before they split in 2003. Six years after their divorce, Austin tied the knot with his fourth wife, Kristin Feres. They have been together ever since.
#2. Former WWE Women’s Champion Debra
Like her ex-husband Stone Cold Steve Austin, Debra has been married to two wrestlers. Before tying the knot with The Texas Rattlesnake in 2000, the former Women’s Champion was married to former WCW United States Heavyweight Champion Steve McMichael.
McMichael made a few non-wrestling appearances in WWE before joining WCW in 1995. The former professional footballer spent nearly four years in the company before retiring in 1999.
Debra met McMichael several years before she entered the wrestling industry. The two married in 1985, and McMichael was so fascinated by his wife’s beauty that he urged her to participate in beauty pageants.
Debra won the 1987 Mrs. Illinois America pageant and the 1992 Mrs. Texas beauty contest. In 1995, she and her then-husband kicked off their wrestling careers, joining WCW.
In 1997, Debra left WCW as her marriage to McMichael fell apart. The couple officially divorced in 1998. In an interview with Wrestling Digest in 2001, the former Women’s Champion disclosed why she and her first husband split.
Debra joined WWE in 1998. Two years later, she married Stone Cold Steve Austin. In 2002, the former Women’s Champion left Vince McMahon’s company and retired from professional wrestling. A year later, she and Austin got divorced. The 61-year-old has never married since.
#1. Former WWE Women’s Champion The Kat
The Kat (AKA Stacy Carter) met Jerry Lawler many years before joining Vince McMahon’s company. The King was then married to his second wife, Paula Lawler, while The Kat was still a teenager.
In his autobiography, “It’s Good to be The King– Sometimes”, Lawler stated that he did not fall in love with The Kat at first sight.
Despite this, Lawler later fell in love with The Kat. She moved in with him after he and his second wife split in 1991. Eight years later, the former Women’s Champion made her WWE debut.
Nearly a year after joining Vince McMahon’s company, The Kat married Lawler. However, their marriage ended in 2003.
Seven years after her divorce from The King, The Kat married former WWE Superstar Sinn Bodhi (FKA Kizarny). However, the two divorced three years later.
The 51-year-old spent only three years in WWE, in which time she won the Women’s Title once. Since her departure in 2001, she has competed in a few matches on the independent circuit. Her final bout came in 2011 when she teamed with her second husband to defeat Massive Damage and Sexy Samantha at an FSW event.
